Spring Wine Masterclass with Federico
Spring wines?
Spring is a season of transition as we go from rifling through the cellar in search of the big red wines and leap towards summer with crispy whites and lighter reds. So Senior Sommelier, Federico Moccia, hosted a masterclass on Spring Wines to help our Members choose the best wines for the season.
For Federico, they “showcase some light bodied refreshing fruit driven wines, perfect for this seasons spring brunches by the river or as an aperitif with charcuterie”.
The wine tasting
“We tasted some indigenous and unusual grape varieties ranging from Torrontés from Argentina and Zibibbo from Sicily, to a traditional and well known Pinot Noir grown in Chile.
Members’ taste buds were tested but in the end there were only two winners, a light floral 2016 Gewürztraminer from Cantina Valle Isarco in Italy and a fruit driven elegant Pinot Noir, 2015 Montes Alpha from Chile”.
Good suggestions for this bank holiday weekend!
