The Expert Series: China – Six snapshots of Chinese history through a wine journey

Hosted by Janet Wang & Oz Clarke

An ever-increasing haul of international trophies at competitions around the world tells its own tale as to the rise of China’s star on the contemporary wine stage.
Part history lesson, part storytelling, this edition of The Expert Series is introduced by Janet Wang, leading wine expert and author of The Chinese Wine Renaissance, ably assisted by Oz Clarke.
Revealing the myths and legends of wine in China, as well as dissecting its phenomenal progress and success, Wang and Clarke dip into a range of Chinese wines which speaks of the country’s diversity, including a white made from a grape called Longyan (‘Dragon Eye’), and a red from the foothills of the Himalayas which leaves Clarke ‘tremendously impressed.’
