58 Gin essentially takes its name from 57 failed distillations which, for managing director Carmen O’Neal, didn’t quite hit the bullseye. The following run however was a triumph worth honouring.
Ensconced in a London railway arch, the ‘Gin from the Heart’ sustainable ethos of 58 Gin can be detected every step of the way – even the apples and sloes (once they’ve fulfilled their primary purpose) are turned into crumble desserts.
Wine educator Amelia Singer pays a visit to discover what makes this gin artisan tick. Rolling up her sleeves she mans the production line to concoct her own potion, before settling in at the bar with an array of gins which are also available as a tasting kit to digital members.
