Clos St-Denis & Clos de la Roche – the grand cru twins of Morey-St-Denis
We are delighted to confirm the vintages ahead of Jasper Morris’ first event in our ‘Expert Series’; Clos St-Denis & Clos de la Roche – the grand cru twins of Morey-St-Denis.
Jasper will guide us through the different characteristics of the two neighbouring vineyards – and the even subtler differences within each vineyard, while expanding on what each producer and vintage brings to the party.
The first two pairs will showcase the rising stars of the appellations: both long established domaines which have only very recently begun to realise their immense potential.
We follow up with two of the great classic domaines, expressed in vintages which are reaching maturity. Will it be a head to head between Clos de la Roche and Clos St-Denis, or a head to head between Domaines Dujac and Ponsot? Almost certainly both!
We will round out the evening with an older wine each from Louis Jadot and Hubert Lignier as a distinguished finale.
We will taste:
Coquard Loison Fleurot:
2014 Coquard-Loison-Fleurot Clos de la Roche
2014 Coquard-Loison-Fleurot Clos St-Denis
Castagnier:
