“Calera is one of the most compelling Pinot Noir specialists of not only the New World, but of Planet Earth.” Robert Parker

A Masterclass dinner

Josh Jensen wanted his very first grapes to be planted in limestone-rich soil, and 35 years ago, he began his quest to find the perfect site to produce a California wine to rival the best French burgundies…

This site turned out to be a barely accessible mountainside in the central part of California. The vineyard is situated roughly 25 miles from the Pacific Ocean and is made up of multiple sites. In spite of the prevailing opinion in the 1980’s that Pinot Noir grapes could not be successfully grown in the U.S.A, Calera is a symbol of perseverance, and remains a pioneer in Californian Pinot Noir.

On Tuesday 21st February, we will welcome Josh Jensen to the Club to host a Masterclass dinner. Jensen will guide Members through an exciting selection of his wines that showcase his pursuit of excellence and his obsession to produce consistently excellent and internationally recognised wines.

We will enjoy:

2014 Calera Central Coast Chardonnay
2014 Calera Central Coast Viognier
2013 Calera Mt Harlan Viognier
2013 Calera Central Coast Pinot Noir
2012 Calera Mills Vineyard Pinot Noir
2011 Calera Jensen Vineyard Pinot Noir
