Château de Beaucastel Masterclass dinner

Located between the Rhône and Avignon, the vines of Château de Beaucastel give fruit to 13 varieties of  Châteauneuf-du-Pape and  hail some of the finest wines – both red and white – from all of Southern France. Boasting near perfect (and perfect) scores consistently year after year, Château de Beaucastel is in very high demand across the world.

In 1903, a young chemical engineer and mathematics professor named Pierre Perrin, together with his father-in-law, began to restore the domaine following the ravages of phylloxera. His son, Jacques Perrin, took over the domaine in 1953 and introduced many innovations such as improved grape varietals, integrated pest control and a flash-heat exchanger.

Today, the vines lie in the hands of Jean-Pierre and François, the sons of Jacques Perrin, who endeavour to continue his story. Jean-Pierre and François are responsible for expanding the realm of the Perrin family’s wine business, and are joined by their children, the fifth generation, ensuring that Beaucastel really is a family affair.

The Perrin family has received numerous international awards, including the prestigious 2018 Meininger Award for Wine Family of the Year, and in addition, Jean-Pierre and Francois Perrin were named Men of the Year by Decanter Magazine in 2014.

Hosted by Marc Perrin, this is one not to be missed.
