The Gaja winery was founded in 1859 in the hilly Piedmont region of northwestern Italy, and quickly established a reputation for quality.

An uncompromising pioneer, introducing vintage-dating and single-vineyard bottlings under their own name, the Gaja family built a business that survived and thrived. Angelo Gaja, whose motto is “First, do something, second, learn to do it better,” raised the bar even higher, rigourously improving the vineyards and wines even further, until his Barolos and Barbarescos became unquestionably world-class. Today, Gaja is unquestionably one of Italy’s and the world’s most famous wine names.

67 Pall Mall is delighted to welcome Gaia Gaja, Angelo’s daughter, sixth generation of the family, who is actively involved with every aspect of the business alongside her father, and clearly shares her father’s energy, charisma and perfectionism. She will be showing their famed Barolos and Barbaresco, including Barolo Sperss, Dagromis and Conteisa.
